Visit Nairobi National Park to see the capital city's wildlife neighbours
Only 15 km from Nairobi City centre this is the smallest
and oldest of the Kenya's parks. The park's vegetation comprises mostly
of open grass lands that support herds of plains game including wildebeest,
hartebeest, impala, eland, zebra, grant's and thomson's gazelle. Hippos
could be seen at the seasonal swamps and occasionally lions and cheetahs.
On the main gate on Langata road, there lies the animal orphanage where
the young and sick animals are nursed in a wired enclosure before returning
to the wild.
